"Power’s been steady, app could be quicker"
Overall, my experience has been decent. The power stays on most of the time, and I haven’t had many outages, which I definitely appreciate.
The only thing I’ve noticed is that the balance updates in the app can be a little slow sometimes, and that makes the shutoff messages a bit stressful. Customer service did get it sorted out, just not as quickly as I would’ve hoped. Still, it’s been okay overall.

I use the Payless Power app mostly to check my balance and add money when I need to, and for the most part it does the job. I guess I can’t complain too much because it’s convenient, but sometimes it loads slower than I’d expect or randomly logs me out, which is annoying when I’m just trying to make a quick payment. Maybe it’s just my phone sometimes, I don’t know, but it definitely gets frustrating. I do like the alerts though because they help me keep an eye on my usage. Overall, it’s not a bad app, just wish it was a little more reliable.

I kept checking my daily usage, and the numbers didn’t feel like they matched what I was actually using. It was frustrating because when something is tracking usage, I want to feel like I can trust it, and this just made me second-guess everything.

My account balance wasn’t showing correctly, and I was frustrated at first. I reached out to support, they looked into it, and they actually got it fixed the same day. I do wish it hadn’t happened in the first place, but at least they fixed it, and they fixed it without making me go back and forth a bunch. Giving 4 stars for that.

It just didn’t feel worth the money to me. The rates were already high, and then the extra fees started adding up fast. I expected better value for what I was paying, and when I had a complaint, I had to chase them to get any kind of proper response.

"Clear policies and helpful reminders"
I appreciate that the disconnect policy is easy to understand and they send warnings before anything actually happens. It makes it simpler to plan ahead and avoid surprises. Prepaid electric can still be stressful if money is running late, but overall it feels fair as long as you stay on top of the text alerts
"Customer service wasn’t much help"
I called about a billing problem and just got passed around from one person to another. The rep sounded kind of annoyed, and in the end, nothing really got fixed. I had to call again next day and explain the same thing all over again. Frustrating experience.

"Reconnection took way too long"
I paid off my balance with Payless Power thinking my lights would be back on quickly, or at least within the timeframe I was given, but it ended up taking a lot longer than expected. What made it more annoying was that the app seemed to be telling me one thing, and then when I reached out to customer service, I was getting a different answer, so I didn’t really know what to believe or how long I was supposed to keep waiting.
I understand that reconnecting power may not always happen instantly, and I’m sure there are steps involved behind the scenes, but sitting around without a clear update was really frustrating. The power did eventually come back on, so it got resolved in the end, but the whole experience felt stressful, confusing, and not handled as well as it could have been.

"Canceling was fine, just took a little effort"
Moved recently and ended up canceling my Payless Power account. Wasn’t a huge hassle or anything, but definitely not as quick as I expected.
Had to call in, sit on hold for a bit, and make sure the remaining balance was handled. The rep was okay, just sounded a little rushed and ready to move on.
Got it taken care of in the end, so no major complaints. Just wish the cancellation steps were easier to find online. Average experience overall

"Power was on quicker than I expected"
I signed up with Payless Power and the power got connected fast. I figured I’d be sitting around waiting all day or maybe even longer, but it came on the same day, so that was a relief. The website was alright, kinda basic and not the smoothest thing ever, but I got through it. I’m giving 4 stars because the speed was really good, I just think the updates could’ve been a little clearer so you know what’s going on without guessing

The prepaid power does what it’s supposed to do, so I can’t say it doesn’t work. But those daily balance texts get annoying after a while. It’s not the worst, just not something I’d be excited to use again

"Super easy to keep track of my balance!!"
I really like being able to check my balance whenever I want!!! It’s nice to see what I’m using and not get surprised later... Definitely helps me stay on top of things. Super simple to follow, and so far, no issues at all!!

"Pretty fair terms, nothing major so far"
I signed up after going through the contract terms, they were mostly clear. I mean, the rates and fees are all listed, so that helped. Some parts could be explained a little better, though. The service has been, well, it’s been fine so far, and I haven’t had any surprise issues yet. I’d give it 4 stars

well... I do like that Payless Power lets you add money whenever you need to, and that part is convenient. It’s nice not having to wait around or deal with a bunch of extra steps just to keep the lights on.
That said, if you fall behind or your paycheck comes a little late, it can get stressful fast. I feel like I’m constantly checking the balance, because even a small delay can turn into a bigger issue quicker than you’d think.
It probably works fine if you always have money ready to go, but for me it hasn’t felt very flexible. It’s not the worst service, but I do wish there was a little more breathing room when things get tight.

"Signing Up Was a Ridiculous Hassle"
I tried signing up with Payless Power what a dumb little ordeal. The site kept asking me for the same stuff like it couldn’t keep up, and a few pages loaded all weird. I figured enrollment would take a few minutes, but nope, it dragged on way longer than it should have. By the end, I still wasn’t even totally sure if it went through. Pathetic first impression.

The service itself works fine, so I can’t complain much there. But my rate ended up changing more than I expected, which was frustrating when I was trying to plan my weekly budget.
